Who doesn’t want to have that glowing, healthy looking skin? Glowing skin has been a trend on the runways for the few past years in every season. That’s because it makes us look fresh, cute and young. I will give you some ideas on how to get that glow in the long run, but also if you don’t have the time, there will be some tips how you can just wing it with makeup on the go! Enjoy!

Illuminating foundation or BB cream

Want that healthy looking glow right now and don’t want to wait for the results of more time consuming ways? Look no further than for foundations or BB creams with illuminating properties. They will make your skin look super fresh and cover up any signs of fatigue or that last night’s party. I recommend Rimmel’s Wake Me Up Foundation it really works wonders on the skin.

Minimum powder

If you want the full glow effect from the illuminating foundation you can totally skip the powder. If you cannot go without it, apply minimum amount, or just dust some on the areas that you don’t want the shine at all (like t-zone). There are also some great powders that have illuminating properties like Guerlain’s Meteorites. I love it because it gives you a soft and delicate glow.

Highlight, highlight, highlight!

If you want even more bling than a foundation and powders can give you, it’s time for your highlighter to do some serious work! Put it on top of your cheekbones, cupid’s bow, under eyebrows and highlight your nose. My favorites are Becca’s Shimmering Skin Perfectors (they give some serious glow), wet n wild’s MegaGlo Highlighting Powders, Benefit’s High Beam and Barry M’s highlighting palettes.

Setting spray

Setting spray will make everything blend really beautifully together. The powder will blend with the foundation and your skin will be looking all dewy, radiant and ready to go.

Drink a lot of water

Nothing will make your skin look better than drinking appropriate amount of water. Hydrated skin means glowing skin. I wrote about how much water you should be drinking daily and what other benefits it will give you right here. So drink up my dear!

Eat your veggies and fruits

A good diet can also promote clear looking and glowy skin. The less sugar and processed foods you eat the clearer will your complexion become! We really are what we eat! Fruits and veggies are vitamin bombs that will help your skin regenerate and look good. For an extra kick you can try some DIY face masks with natural ingredients that can directly sink into your skin.

Exfoliate regularly

Exfoliating on a regular basis (once or twice a week, depending on what your skin needs) will help you keep that glowing skin! It will remove any dead skin cells that make your skin look dull and make way for a fresh, soft and dewy face! Exfoliation helps promote creation of new cells and production of collagen (that will protect you from those wrinkles!).

Don’t fall asleep with makeup on

Most important rule is to never, ever, under any circumstances should you go to bed with your makeup on. Always take your makeup off and cleanse your face before going to bed. Makeup left on for the night really clogs up your pores (it sinks in even further when you sleep) and really dry up your face (skin won’t be able to breathe). And just think that throughout the day your makeup caught all the pollution, dirt and smoke from the city and it will all just sit on your face through entire night and cause your skin to age too fast. So please whip out those makeup removers before sleep ladies!

Get a good night’s sleep

Your skin relaxes and regenerates when you sleep. That’s the best time for healing and creating new skin cells. It also means your skin will get a rest from all those irritants that are all over our cities. When you’re well rested you will get that glowing skin naturally.
