There’s something about watching christmas movies that makes you all mushy, warm and giddy inside. Am I right? No matter how corny they are during this festive times we love them anyway and want more.more.more! For me it’s almost a tradition to watch certain movies every year because without them Christmas time is not the same!
Nightmare before christmas
This is my favorite movie to watch between Halloween and Christmas as it combines both! Tim Burton’s animation tells the story of Halloween Town king – Jack Skellington, bored by the routine of organizing Halloween, who decides to kidnap Santa Claus and organize Christmas himself with the help of his town’s residents – ghouls, bats and other Halloween-monsters. It has bits of musical and black comedy and well you either hate it or love it!
LOVE THIS MOVIE! It tell ten love stories, all different, but taking place around Christmas time. Amazing cast, stories range from overly adorable, cheesy, funny to bittersweet. You get such a whirlwind of emotions while watching this movie! But at the end I feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Really recommend it!
National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation
Ah yes, an oldie but a goodie. Used to watch it every single Christmas with my parents since I was a little kid – the loved the movie so much and so did I! Fantastic comedy that has me laughing so hard my stomach hurts. Griswold family organize Christmas at their home and invite all their family – Clark being the head of the family wants to make the festivities perfect and most memorable. There’s only one thing standing in his way – his bad luck and proneness to accidents.
Jingle All the Way
I cannot even begin to tell you how cheesy this movie is. The perfect christmas mix! There’s something so funny and adorable about Arnold Schwarzenegger fighting his way to get the present for his son that is impossible to get as it’s sold out everywhere – Turbo-Man toy. A lot of bad luck means loads of laughter is guaranteed.
Romantic comedy set during – you guessed it – Christmas time. Two women who don’t know each other decide to “run” from their problems and switch their homes for the holidays – between California and UK. Each girl meets a guy right after the exchange and many romantic moments ensue. Really warm and cute comedy, perfect to watch while you’re cuddled in a blanket on the couch with a cup of steaming hot cocoa.
