Today I would like to share with you a few words about Catrice Velvet Matt Lip Cream. I was drawn to it because it’s matte (and I have an unhealthy obsession with everything matte) and it has a very pretty range of colors that have really caught my eye.
I have the lip cream in shade 30 Hazel-Rose Royce (how cute is that name?). The product is supposed to have a velvety matt finish. The effect is kind of matte, but it never becomes dry on the lips. I have a feeling that it never fully sets, it has more of a lipgloss vibe on me. The sad part is that I was expecting it to look way more intense on the lips, which is why I was a bit disappointed, I expected it to be really deep and out-there. Even though it is more on the subtle side, I like how it looks. There is just always this letdown that I was expecting something much different. This is how it looks on the lips:
The Catrice Velvet Matt Lip Cream has a nice scent and it’s really hydrating for the lips, as it contains vitamin E. The application of the product is really easy, the brush just easily glides onto your lips. It’s supposed to be long lasting, but unfortunately that it ain’t. I put it on when leaving home for work, I got there and after pretty much an hour it was all gone (during that time I didn’t eat anything, only sipped on my tea). I was unpleasantly surprised that it faded away that quickly.
I’m very sad to say that I’m really disappointed with this lip cream. It looks nice on the lips, but I expected something more intense and definitely more long lasting. It saddened me, because I had high hopes for this product, especially that the color range was really lovely. I’m glad I just stuck with one color to try out.
Did you try this product out? And are you a fan of matte lipsticks and lip creams?
